ABOUTSongwriting has always been the force of beauty in my life. I grew up nurturing a passion for chaptering life into albums.
I have sought to push the boundaries of what I can create, guided always by inner vision and the chords, sounds and rhythms that resonate for me at the time. My approach has always been intuitive, and I always find my own way to play. I love finding new ways to blend and combine songwriting with experimental electronic and minimal music. I am a self-taught songwriter and producer, but I had lessons in guitar, flute and drum kit and studied music and music technology until age 18. I started recording and arranging my own music in 2004, and was writing prolifically throughout my school years. Songwriting helped me through a difficult time when I couldn’t speak, and became more meaningful to me than anything else. I was very reluctant to submit to the education system, I just wanted to do my own thing. Following the turbulent but fun time of growing up, my teenage bandleader era, unexpectedly doing a degree in French and Linguistics, and committing to a daily practice of ashtanga yoga for a number of years which deeply transformed me, I began exploring electronic production around 2015. In 2016 I won the PRS Lynsey de Paul Prize. In 2017 I began releasing albums and not looking back, staying focussed on the goal of fulfilling my musical ideas. In that time I've released eight albums and I am now releasing the ninth. here is a collation of press I've received, things I've achieved, and interviews I've done. I remain devoted to the expression of timeless beauty and the creation of exciting and progressive new things. |
