CHAOS EMERALDS
(April 12th 2024) It started out as a breezy collection of experimental beats made mainly from natural sounds, synths and vocals, at which i casually chucked this sonic the hedgehog reference very early on… There are sparsely arranged drums, with subtle percussive layers enmeshing with canopies of found sounds that bounce around excitedly, weaving around pools of melodic poetry that speak in metaphor and sensory image... This album came to embody a great deal more in the end, travelling through a substantial period of deep change. Many lyrics on the album were originally poems that i wrote around the same time. The poems and the beats were two separate, organic creations that were not fused until much later... LUPA
(2021) this album had many layers to it in every sense. on reflection it was like i was researching the depths of the psyche, navigating a dark, windy forest, scraping and foraging in the ground for gems of understanding, and bringing my findings to the album. releasing it was quite scary. travelling through textural, percussive beats, swirling melancholic soundscapes made from processed vocals, guitars, synths and field recordings, woven into visceral and heartfelt songs that express the contrast of beauty and tumult. written, recorded and produced by elsa hewitt mastered by kassian at dubplates and mastering reissued on vinyl by tompkins square GHOSTCATS
